LINUX MINT PORTABLE

Linux mint is another powerful Linux distribution with one reigning trait over all other distros: it looks and feels exactly like windows. Its clearly not windows but the novice user feels less out of his element on Mint. All installable programs are located in an easy to use instillation manager which connects to the web to pull down every possible add on for Mint, the programs install easy and automatically get a shortcut on the desktop and programs, once launched, resemble the windows environment almost exactly. Its almost easy to forget that your even running Linux. This OS comes pre-loaded with a bunch of essential software already on it, some which was put there by SamTec. Some pre-installed software that might catch your eye are: Firefox, Thunderbird, Open Office, Flash, Java, a full media suite, Gimp, DVD/CD rippers and burners, various system/networking tools and a bunch of basic accessories like a calculator and a calender. This OS is immensely powerful but the trade-off is your system needs to have a little extra horse power to run it. However, if you got a decent system that can handle Mint and you want to run it from a live version off your USB, then this is perfect for you.
